How to Create NFT?

Kalp Studio’s NFT Creator is designed for simplicity and efficiency, enabling users to create and manage NFTs in just a few steps. Below, we break down the process from starting with an empty NFT portfolio to successfully creating a NFT.

Step 1: Accessing the NFT Creator

  1. Open ‘NFT Creator’ by logging into KALP Studio console.

  2. In ‘NFT Creator’, navigate to the NFT Portfolio section located at the left sidebar menu (Fig.1).

  3. On the dashboard, if no NFTs are currently created, a message will appear saying, “No NFT yet!”

  4. Now click the ‘+ Create NFT’ button to start creating a new NFT.

Note

You need to connect a wallet first for creating a NFT, if not connected already.

Step 2: Creating a New NFT

  1. Once you start creating a new NFT, a ‘Create NFT’ page will open asking for below details (Fig.2):

    1. Upload Media: Upload the main media file for your NFT. You can upload Video, Audio, Image, Animation, Document and 3D files.
      (Supported formats include JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, SVG, DOCX, PDF, MP4, WEBM, MP3, WAV, OGG, and GLB, with a maximum file size of 100 MB)

    2. Name Your Creation: Enter a unique name for your NFT (Validations are shown next to the text box)

    3. Catalog Selection: You can either select an existing catalog you already created OR create a new one. If you’re creating a new catalog, click on ‘Create New Catalog’* button (covered in another article)

    4. Description: Provide a description of your NFT to let the audience know about your creation in detail. This helps potential viewers understand the background or value of your NFT.

    5. Asset Properties (optional): Add any additional properties you think will be needed to describe your NFT. Under ‘Asset Properties’, you can add custom details in Key-Value pair like:

      1. Type: NFT

      2. Color: Red

      3. Genre: Classical music

Note

When creating NFT on KALP DLT, you will only have option to select a default system
Provided Catalog. You can add at max 6 properties to your NFT with max character
Length up to 15 characters.

Step 3: Creating a New Catalog (Optional)

  1. Upload Catalog picture: Upload a cover image for your new Catalog.
    (Supported formats for thumbnails are JPG, PNG, GIF and WEBP, with a max size of 5 MB)

  2. Name your Catalog: Give a name to your new Catalog.

  3. Description: Add a brief description about your Catalog's purpose or theme.

  4. Click on ‘Create Catalog’ button at last to create. A confirmation message will appear indicating successful catalog creation.

Note

Transaction signing prompt will be asked to create Catalog if Ethereum wallet connected.

Step 4: Minting Confirmation

  1. Once you’ve filled in all the required details for your NFT, click on the Create button.

  2. A confirmation popup will appear, stating: "The platform requires to mint the asset and metadata on Blockchain now to create your NFT. Please approve this transaction to continue."

  3. Click Confirm to proceed. This initiates the blockchain transaction for minting the NFT.

Step 5: Approving the Transaction through Wallet

  1. After confirming, a wallet interface (e.g., MetaMask) will open, displaying the estimated gas fee required to mint the NFT.

  2. Review the Estimated fee and Total amount to ensure the transaction cost is acceptable.

  3. Click Confirm in your wallet to authorize the transaction. This will complete the minting process on the blockchain.

  4. A success message will appear saying, “Your NFT has been created successfully” with ‘View NFT’ button to view your created NFT.
